Diabetes is a disease in which the body’s ability to produce or respond to the hormone insulin is impaired, resulting in abnormal
metabolism of carbohydrates and elevated levels of glucose in the blood and urine.
It is best to avoid or limit the following:
1. Dried fruit with added sugar.
2. Canned fruit with sugar syrup.
3. Jam, jelly, and other preserves with added sugar.
4. Fruit drinks and fruit juices.
5. Canned vegetables with added sodium.
